Happy to have a camera in hand again

A string of family emergencies kept me busy for the past eight weeks: traveling to and from medical offices, visiting hospital patients, providing home health care, and keeping final vigil in a hospice center. My schedule precluded any photography and online activity, except for an occasional quick check of email. A day or two before I arrived back home, I developed a wicked sinus infection which knocked me out of commission for another week. Sunday Baltimore held its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, an event that always provides numerous fun photo opportunities. I filled my...

Conditions were optimal when I created this image at twilight on a cold January evening. The light was dramatic, and the thin coat of ice on the river provided a stunning reflection. Shoot your favorite subjects in various...

The historic Dundalk community has the longest running July 4th parade in all of Maryland.  My favorite Baltimore Hons Charlene Osborne,...

City Sights and City Lights

A few years ago, I had an ah-ha moment while visiting Baltimore.  On this late spring day my wife and I were strolling around the Inner Harbor.  This is the touristy area of downtown Baltimore, full of fine restaurants, wonderful shops and things to see including the well-known National Aquarium and the historic Maritime Museum fleet.  We were enjoying the balmy weather and the warm glow of the light the setting sun cast across the sky.  Near the Maryland Science Center we stopped to watch the city skyline as it began to sparkle against the...
